Are You Unbreakable?
Ps 34:19-20 9 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. 20 He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken. NKJV
Two things cannot be broken, the bones of the Righteous One (Christ), and the Scriptures that make Him known (Jn.10:35; Jn.19:36). Those who are not broken may not partake of the Lamb whose body was broken open and blood poured out for sinners.
Ps 51:17 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart — These, O God, You will not despise. NKJV
On the cross His body was broken open, but it was His broken Spirit that pleased the Father; for He cried: "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" He was broken internally, fulfilling the law perfectly, providing an acceptable sacrifice. Does this "break" you? Do you weep inside to know that your sin is what caused the brokenness of the Savior? Or do you despise His sacrifice?
1 Cor 11:23-26
23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me." 25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes. NKJV
Are you broken enough to make every sacrifice necessary to participate at His table? For this is where you find life and peace. When you are broken, it is His brokenness, which has the power to heal your spirit and motivate you to LIVE. When we partake of His body in the form of bread we embrace His death. To live you must embrace death; first, His death, then, your death. Did you die with Him? If you do not embrace death in Him, His life cannot be made alive in you; for that is why He rose and ascended to glory. Apart from Christ your life is meaningless.
Rom 6:1-11
6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. NKJV
